Definition of Children's Film
There is a number of definitions of films which are discussed in research literature. This is the definition which I used to identify films which are produced (not only) for children and
represent childhood. Children's films which I defined as such meet all of these three criterias.
- Form:

- min. 60min runtime, mainly fictional
- at least one age rating under 12
- linear, audiovisual narration to be published as so called "film"
- professionally produced and financed and

- produced for children and/or family which should be proofed through target audience, festival submissions, adressing the target-audience-in content and form and
- Content

- at least one protagonist is a child before adolescence (exception: fairytales and animals that behave like children)
